Oleg Kolimbet is a visual artist with a focus on photographic work and the photobook. Born in Bering Island (Kamchatka), Oleg currently lives in St.Petersburg, Russia. He studied German and English philology at St. Petersburg University and business administration at University of Walles. In 2000- 2022 he studied documentary and post-documentary photography at Docdocdoc school of modern photography in St.Petersburg. 

Oleg’s work explores personal and collective memory, as well addresses themes of changes in cultural landscape and the impact of these changes on people.

His work has been exhibited in different countries and is held in the collections of international institutions such as Aperture Foundation in the US, Universidad Comlutense in Spain, Museum of Modern Art in Russia and others.

Oleg’s first book “So Far, So Close. In Search of Bering Island” was shortlisted for the PhotoEspaña Best Book Award 2024 and Budapest International Foto Awards 2024.
